Outdoor and Wildlife Gallery

I don't claim to be a wildlife photographer, but I do enjoy getting outdoors and capturing nature on the move. We call our trips Tuesday Treks, or sometimes Photo Safaris when they involve longer adventures. Often a good photo is just a few miles from home rather than across the country at a national park. My commitment to shoot a new photo every week for the Rowlett Photo Club website keeps me active and camera at the ready. But I enjoy simply testing my abilities - stopping a bird in flight with a high-speed setting, catching the golden tones on a prairie dog town in that magic hour before sunset, finally figuring out how to shoot the surface of the moon, or finding the right setting for a long-exposure sunset. My wife Marti says she loves being my photographic assistant and doesn't seem to mind when I pull off the road to snap something that catches my eye.
